- Contest Information: For Contestants, this includes content submitted to a contest, such as text, images, videos, audio, and related media (the "Submission").
- Usage Data: We collect data related to your usage of our platform, including IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and interaction metrics.
2. Types of Users and Their Rights
- Contestants: Contestants may delete their accounts at any time provided they are not actively participating in an ongoing contest. Account deletion does not erase submitted contest content, which remains the property of Qegnet for contest records.
- Judges: Judges cannot delete their account while assigned to an active contest. Their name and participation remain associated with the contest for transparency and auditability.
- Moderators: Moderators cannot delete their account while assigned to an active contest. Their actions remain associated with the contest for platform integrity.
- Admins: Super admins of a company hosting an active contest cannot delete their account until the contest inner announcement date has passed.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain our services, including contest operations, judging, moderation, and rewards processing.
- To communicate with you regarding your account, contest updates, announcements, and support inquiries.
- To improve platform technical infrastructure and analyze aggregate usage trends.
- To ensure compliance with our Terms of Service and prevent fraudulent activities.
4. Contest Submissions
- Ownership of Submissions: Contest submissions made to a contest are the exclusive property of Qegnet. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, and irrevocable license to display, distribute, and promote the content in connection with Qegnet operations.
5. Data Retention
- We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or needed to provide services. Upon account deletion, certain data and contest submissions may be retained for legal, administrative, or auditing purposes.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
- We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance user experience, analyze traffic, and store user preferences securely.
7. Third-Party Services
- We may utilize third-party services (such as payment providers, cloud storage, and analytics platforms) to operate our platform. These third parties access data strictly to perform authorized functions and are bound by confidentiality.
8. Data Security
- We implement industry-standard security measures to safeguard your personal data from unauthorized access or alteration. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure.
9. Data Transfers and International Processing
- Your data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that have different data protection laws than your country of residence. By using Qegnet, you consent to such processing.
10. EDGE Program Integration and Certification
- Qegnet is integrated with the EDGE Program (Mastercard Foundation Young Africa Works strategy). Upon explicit user consent (e.g. opt-in checkbox during registration), Qegnet shares your First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, and Phone Number with the EDGE program to verify and display "EDGE Certified" status on your profile.
11. Your Rights and Choices
- Access & Update: Access and update your profile information in account settings.
- Delete Account: Delete your account subject to active contest rules (submissions remain retained).
- Data Request: Request a copy of your personal data or withdraw consent by contacting qegnet@2f-capital.com.
12. Children’s Privacy
- Qegnet is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If discovered, such data will be deleted immediately.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via platform notice or email.
